Marie Belrose writes fantasy and paranormal romance. She grew up from a shy bookworm into a nerdy academic who loves teaching young adults. Being neurodivergent and seeing the world a little differently from most people allows her to value the creativity and original perspective she can bring to her writing. Her debut novel, a shifter romance, is titled Heart’s Ease and is being published by Totally Entwined in March 2022. Her short story, “The Dove and the Lamb,” was published in Alpheria’s Splash magazine, summer 2021. 

Marie believes that writing fiction allows us to share messages that help and heal the world, that bring people together and show us the best inside ourselves. She believes it is a writer’s duty to enlighten and entertain, that beautiful words and ideas can help us understand ourselves and others. As a romance writer she offers an escape to hard-working, busy readers who are looking for something thrilling and heartfelt. She writes strong characters who have relationships built on reciprocity and respect, to show her readers that they are valued, worthy, and beautiful and deserve to be treated that way. 

She loves drinking tea and watching movies with her husband, three teenagers, and their menagerie of furry, feathered, and scaled pets.

Her goals for the writing life include cultivating confidence and kindness, finding her little light and helping others find theirs too.
